A very grown up bedroom transformation

Having a girl who is obsessed with foxes, dream catcher and all things purple makes it difficult when trying to redecorate their bedroom and stick to a theme.   Before I started her room was rather boring and nondescript. It really didn’t show any of her personality at all. As usual with my broken body, anything strenuous and active takes forever. I just about managed to paint one wall a day, and using power tools apparently put me into instant flare. But after 4 weeks of pottering I think I’ve finally finished. Her wardrobe and desk have been transformed into … Continue reading “A very grown up bedroom transformation”

Manna’s twinkly t’shirt

The whole point of this blog was to show my attempts at crafting, instead it seems to be a page for ranting and emotional outbursts which has actually very therapeutic. And its not that I haven’t been doing much crafting, more that I just haven’t got round to sharing any of it. But all that is going to change!! The first craft project I’m sharing it one of this gifts I made this Christmas. It was for my lovely Yoga teacher Manna. I wanted to make something for her to advertise her classes as they are always such a giggle. … Continue reading “Manna’s twinkly t’shirt”

New Year New Me – The Bullet Journal

We all do it!  At the end of December, start planning the new year new me stuff. This year it’s going to be different! And by the end of 2017 I’ll be a size 10 who will always leave the house looking like a supermodel, I’ll be super fit, in control of my health and able to run marathons, I won’t shout at my children, and I will be organised and on top of every aspect of my life and things will be perfect!   But by the middle of January the sneaky chocolate bars have found their way back … Continue reading “New Year New Me – The Bullet Journal”

Plants vs Zombies fleece cushion

When someone says they want a zombie theme I automatically think it’s carte blanche to go full out blood guts and gore….. But apparently that’s not what my 11 year old son had in mind. His zombie themed duvet set was actually a very tame version showing the characters from the game Plants vs Zombies. As a little xmas day treat I decided to make him a matching cushion for his bed. First I measured out the size of the cushion pad going inside. This was a basic round pad from Dunelm to which I added ⅓ of a smaller … Continue reading “Plants vs Zombies fleece cushion”

He who must not be named

Ive got this friend, who has a little bit of a problem…. And she doesnt like to talk about it. She has a rat! Having read one too many Harry Potter novels she knows that referring to it as ‘He who must not be named’ will only exasperate her fear in this creature, and as Voldemort has already been taken she has affectionately named him Brian. Over the weeks Brian has inherited a personality. Brian is a social creature, with intellectual friends who like nothing more than calling round for an evening of fine dining on cheese and red wine, but … Continue reading “He who must not be named”

A little bit of Christmas spirit

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a fan of Christmas. You could say I’m a bit of a bar humbug. There are plenty of reasons I hate Christmas, maybe one day I’ll write them all down, but my biggest bug bear of Christmas is the pressure of making that one day perfect. I’ve been very lucky that for the past 10 years I have been able to hide behind my work and blame the shop for the lack of Xmas spirit. It always started way too early in the shop. I’d spend every weekend in December running workshops, mossing … Continue reading “A little bit of Christmas spirit”

Why blogging and why Prittstick and Painkillers?

Why I chose to start this blog. I have been a crazy mad energetic woman most of my life. When I was 6 month pregnant with my first child I wielded a sledge hammer to re-landscape the garden. 3 months after my second child was born I set up my first mini enterprise, and for last 11 years running a couple of businesses. My main business for the last 9 years has been running a florist full time, and my spare time included me embarking on ridiculously ambitious projects such as refitting the shop in 48hrs whilst my children slept, … Continue reading “Why blogging and why Prittstick and Painkillers?”
